If your child will not be coming in to school, please call the main number to report their absence before 10:00 AM. You can also send a parent note or doctor note in with the student upon their return or fax them to Attention: Veronica Garcia, at 281-644-1580. Students should be in their homerooms by 8:20. If your child is tardy, please escort them into the building and advise the front office of the reason for the tardy so that the reason can be documented. Unless you provide a doctor's note for an appointment that morning, or your student rides a school bus that is late, there are no excused tardies. Unexcused tardies will affect your student's qualifications for Exemplary Attendance Awards.
Picking up your Child Early
If you are picking up your child early from school, this must be done by the parent before 3:15 each day. If you are taking your child for a doctor's appointment, please remember to ask for a doctor's note so that their time away from school is excused. Also remember that if anyone other than a parent or guardian is picking up a student, we must have written documentation ahead of time giving us permission to release your child. If you do not provide a doctor or dentist excuse upon your child's return, the early pick-up will be unexcused and may affect your student's attendance.
If you are planning on withdrawing a student from PME, please notify the Registrar at least 24 hours ahead of time with the date of the student's last day of attendance. That will allow me to get your withdrawal paperwork together and available for pick-up. Please plan on picking up the paperwork on your child's last day of school here. In addition to needing your signature on the paperwork, you should also provide this copy to your child's new school.
If you are new to KISD, please click on the District Registration link on the right to get information about Enrollment times and to print out a copy of the Enrollment packet needed for registration of your child. If you choose to do the enrollment online, you must still print out the forms and bring them with you when you come in to register. There are additional forms that you will need to submit when you come in to complete the registration process, but this will give you a great start! In addition to these forms, you will need to bring the child's original birth certificate, social security card, and shot records along with your Driver's License or ID and proof of residence. Acceptable proof of residence is a light, gas or water bill in the parent's name or if you have just moved into a home, you may bring your lease to enroll, but within 30 days of the move-in date, you will be required to submit a utility bill in your name.
