Fifth Grade Team

My name is MaryLou Zeiders and I am so excited to begin my 31st year
teaching! You know if you do something for thirty-one years, you must
really love it, and that it is certainly true for me. I grew up in Chicago,
received my degree in Elementary Education from Quincy University,
and later earned my Masters from Lamar University. My husband,
David, is a Paramedic, and we have two sons, James, 23, and Sammy,
21. When not at school, I enjoy taking road trips, reading good books,
writing stories in my journal. What a treat it will be to teach Reading,
Writing, & Social Studies to my students this year!

Welcome to Fifth Grade! My name is Betsy Engelmann, and I am
originally from Massachusetts. I received my Bachelors of Science
from Boston University. When I moved to Texas, I completed my
graduate work at Stephen F. Austin State University. I love teaching
science and exploring the world around us. In my free time, I enjoy
spending time with my family and friends, reading, baking, crafting and
traveling. I am looking forward to an awesome year working with all of
you!

Interdisciplinary Studies. I teach Reading, Writing, and Social Studies.
During my free time I like to read, play with my dogs, and relax with
my friends and family. This year is going to be awesome!

Hi! Welcome to 5th Grade. I am Angelica Pereira and I will be your
child’s Language Arts and Social Studies Teacher. I am excited to
start my tenth year in education here at Pattison Elementary. I have a
degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from University of Houston-Clear
Lake and a Masters in Education from University of Texas RGV. My
family and I enjoy traveling, shuffling through seasonal sports, church
activities, BBQs with friends/family, or just relaxing by the pool while
reading a good book. I am looking forward to an AWESOME school
year full of great experiences.

I am Aspen Cooper and this will be my fifth year at Pattison! I grew up
all over, but I spent a majority of my life in Katy, even going to
McMeans Junior High and Cinco Ranch High School. I graduated at
the University of Houston in 2013 and came straight to Pattison
teaching 5th grade. I will be teaching Science, Writing, and Social
Studies this year. I spend my free time reading, teaching Zumba, and
relaxing with my friends, family, and husband. This year is going to be
fantastic!

My name is Maggie Steffens and I am a graduate of Texas Christian University.
I have been teaching for 8 years and have moved from teaching fourth grade last year to teaching fifth grade this year. I love math and hope to ignite a love of math in all my students. On
the weekends you will find me shuttling around my three kids, Cooper,
Charlotte, and Cambree Mae to various extracurricular activities. I also enjoy
running, biking, and eating out with my husband, Scott.

Howdy! My name is Paige Miller and I am very excited to be returning
to Pattison this year! I recently graduated from Texas A&M University
and I student taught at Pattison in 5th grade last year. Some of your
students may remember me as Ms. Sadberry, but I got married this
summer so now I am Mrs. Miller! I went to Katy schools growing up
and I am thankful that I am able to be teaching at one of the best
elementary schools there is! I teach Math, Writing, and Social Studies.
I enjoy spending time with my family and my sweet puppy George.
