Gifted & Talented News: TAGT Senior Scholarships and Summer Enrichment Scholarships


TAGT Scholarships

Each year TAGT offers students the opportunity to apply for scholarships.  See below for more details on each:

Summer Enrichment Scholarships- for students in grades K-12 who are currently being served in a GT program.  The scholarship can be used to attend a summer program with an academic, fine arts or performing arts focus.  (Cannot be sports or recreational camps).  The deadline to apply is Feb. 22, 2019.  Numerous scholarships are awarded- 52 IN 2018.

Laura Allard Future Vision Scholarship- for graduating gifted and talented senior who has demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, strong sense of purpose and clearly defined goals.  Deadline to apply Feb. 22, 2019. One scholarship awarded

Adelle McClendon Young Leader Scholarship- graduating senior who has demonstrated leadership.  Deadline to apply Feb. 22, 2019. One scholarship awarded.

Information and a link to the application may be found on the TAGT website at: https://www.txgifted.org/scholarships.  In the past, a TAGT member has been required to sign the form.  Parents do not have to be TAGT members but will need to make an account to apply.

KPGT Scholarships
Katy Parents of the Gifted and Talented, Inc. is proud to be offering its annual scholarship opportunity to graduating seniors who have participated in the GT program in both elementary and secondary schools. The recipient will be recognized during the annual meeting of KPGT in May 2019, and will be invited to read their essay at that time. Monetary award will be issued to the student when the student provides a copy of invoice: reimbursement will be made only for college-related expenses, such as books, meal plans, tuition, fees, etc. This is a one time, $500 scholarship. Application deadline is March 31,2019

Eligibility Requirements:

  • At least one full year participation in "Challenge" program in a KISD Elementary School

  • Currently enrolled in the GT Program at secondary level

  • High school senior, currently enrolled in KISD

  • Eligible for graduation May 2019

  • No history of disciplinary action

  • Entering College no later than January 2020

  • Family Membership in KPGT is required for application. Students can request a waiver form membership in cases of financial need.  You may submit in advance, or print and or print and mail the membership form and payment with the scholarship application.
