Katy ISD to Host Phone Bank, Answer Questions Regarding Transportation Services and SurveyKaty ISD to Host Phone Bank, Answer Questions Regarding Transportation Services and Survey2015-01-15T22:07:22Z<div class="ExternalClass28B10703CD2F46DF892C412D3DB8F424"><p><em>Address concerns regarding potential changes proposed in survey​</em><em>​</em></p><p><span style="line-height:1.5;">District representatives will be on hand to answer questions from parents and community members regarding Katy ISD Transportation Services and the current Transportation Sustainability Survey during the phone bank on</span><strong style="line-height:1.5;"> January 16, 20 </strong><span style="line-height:1.5;">and</span><strong style="line-height:1.5;"> 21</strong><span style="line-height:1.5;">.</span></p><p>The community-at-large can call with questions or concerns to 281-396-6008 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Tuesday and Wednesday.  Bilingual representatives will also be available. </p><p>Due to challenges in bus driver recruitment and retention, alongside enrollment growth of nearly 3,000 students yearly, Katy ISD's transportation system is facing mounting pressure. Therefore, the District is searching for solutions to adequately sustain the current transportation model.  Some of the potential options include switching to a multi-bell schedule which would impact the start and end times of all campuses and modifying the distance service.  </p><p>Therefore, Katy ISD is asking all parents and community members to take the Transportation Sustainability Survey to provide the District feedback on current use and the proposed changes.  <span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>The survey will be available until Wednesday, January 21</strong></span><strong> </strong>and can be accessed online in English and Spanish at <a href="/" style="text-decoration:underline;">www.katyisd.org</a>.</p><p>The Transportation Sustainability Survey covers four topics: current transportation methods, utilization of district transportation, transportation preferences, and school start and end times.</p><p>Once the survey closes on January 21, District leaders will use the results to provide transportation recommendations. Their recommendations will be presented to the Board of Trustees in February or March.</p></div>
Katy ISD to Hold Public Hearing for Texas Academic Performance ReportKaty ISD to Hold Public Hearing for Texas Academic Performance Report2015-01-12T19:57:45Z<div class="ExternalClass332CCC0A7B74460085B70E963674C313"><p>​<span style="line-height:1.5;">Katy ISD will hold a hearing for public discussion of the Annual 2013-2014 </span><strong style="line-height:1.5;">Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR)</strong><span style="line-height:1.5;">, formerly known as the Academic Excellence Indicator System (AEIS) Report.  The hearing will be held on</span><strong style="line-height:1.5;"> January 20</strong><span style="line-height:1.5;"> during the Board of Trustees monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the Katy ISD Administration Building located at 6301 S. Stadium Lane.</span></p><p>These reports compile a wide range of information on the performance of students in each school and district in Texas every year. Performance is shown disaggregated by student groups, including ethnicity and low income status. The reports also provide extensive information on school and district staff, programs, and student demographics.</p><p>Texas Education Code B39.053 requires each school district's board of trustees to publish an annual report that includes the TAPR report; campus performance objectives; a report of violent or criminal incidents; and information received under the Texas Education Code B51.403 (e) from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. </p></div>
