iStation & Think Through Math Home Access
Texas SUCCESS provides state-funded access to interactive math and reading programs for Texas public school students. The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has selected Think Through Math as the Texas SUCCESS math provider and Istation Reading as the Texas SUCCESS reading provider. Thanks to Texas SUCCESS, students will now have free access to both programs from home.
Think Through Math and Istation Reading both provide students with computer-adaptive instruction that adjusts to their unique skill level. Think Through Math provides students with meaningful practice; motivational tools; and access to live, state-credentialed teachers. Istation Reading maximizes students' reading fluency, comprehension, and retention. While Think Through Math is a web based program and may be accessed from any computer that meets the technical requirements, Istation is computer-based, and may only be accessed from home once parents download the Istation software. Guidance for accessing the programs may be found below.
Texas SUCCESS programs are provided by the state as supplemental resources, and they are not intended to replace core instructional resources or existing intervention programs. Katy ISD will continue to provide teachers with a wealth of appropriate instructional resources to support instruction during the school day. As always, teachers and administrators will work collaboratively to ensure that students have access to the resources and instructional settings that best meet their needs.
Parents may set up accounts in both programs. To set up a parent account for Think Through Math, visit www.texassuccess.org and select "Sign Up" under the "Math" heading. To set up a parent account for Istation Reading, visit www.istation.com/IstationHome/TX and follow the guidance for parents. Parents must create parent accounts in order to view their child's performance reports and monitor their child's progress.
Students' login credentials for both programs follow the sequence below:
Username: Katy ISD Student ID number (i.e. z1234567)*
Password: First Initial + Katy ISD Student ID number (i.e. az1234567)* Passwords are case sensitive.

*To provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying
Wh o a r e Wa t c h D O G S ( D ads O f G re a t S tu d e n ts ) ?
WatchDOGS are fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father-figures who volunteer for at least one day each year at an official WATCH D.O.G.S. ® school. During the day, WatchDOGS may read and work on flash cards with students, play at recess, eat lunch with students, watch the school entrances and hallways, assist with traffic flow and any other assigned activities where they actively engage with not only their own students, but other students as well. Many school principals have reported that the mere presence of a WatchDOG dramatically reduces reports of bullying. On the day of their participation, WatchDOGS are given a brief review of their involvement and they wear an official WATCH D.O.G.S. ® t-shirt with a disposable ‘Dog Tag’ identifying them as WatchDOGS.

The Katy Independent School District takes great pleasure to inform you that it will provide educational services at various Parent Centers district-wide. The Centers provide services to parents of limited English proficient students (English is not the primary language) and immigrant students who attend KISD. We invite parents to participate in ESL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) adult classes. For more information or to sign up, please click on the link on the right to download a form.
The Safety Net is a provision for KISD students or parents to anonymously report or notify school officials of incidents or actions that may pose danger to individuals or the school. The Safety Net begins with the use of a form that is completed and placed in a Safety Net box. The MCE Safety Net box is located in the library. The form states the problem and does not have to be signed. School counselors and administrators are responsible for checking the boxes and facilitating a follow up to the tip. If a parent wishes a Safety Net form, a copy of the form can be accessed and copied from the KISD website. The Safety Net form is then brought to the school for deposit. It is not submitted electronically. The safety and security of students is a priority of Katy ISD.
