Wrangler Reading Challenge Program

The Wrangler Reading Challenge program offers an array of opportunities to foster reading while enhancing life-long skills. While it provides numerous activities, the program specifically:
•offers the opportunity for every student to participate in reading activities

•supports and reinforces the Katy ISD curriculum which is aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills
•promotes higher-level thinking skills
•introduces various literary genres such as historical fiction, classics, science fiction, mysteries, fantasy, etc.
•broadens the awareness and usage of the various sections of the library as well as the different types of literature in each area
•teaches the student how to use the library to locate specific materials
•allows the student to select and read the various types of literature as he is developmentally ready
•encourages parent and child interaction
•fosters life-long reading and learning
