Katy Independent School District

Hutsell Elementary

Young Men of Honor

This program is designed to empower our young boys to become positive male citizens and help them understand the values that are encompassed in a true leader. We follow the research done by Baruti Kafele,  which demonstrates that there is a true leadership crisis due to the small amounts of opportunities male students have to see and mimic positive male role model behaviors,  click here for more information. Thus, here at Hutsell we kicked off this program to help with this crisis.

The Young Men of honor group will meet once a month in the library.  At each of our meetings, we will focus on building Respect, Honor, Integrity, Obedience, Kindness, Self-Discipline, Safety, Leadership, and Punctuality.  The dress code for each meeting includes nice pants (slacks), a button up shirt, and a tie.
