How Do We Communicate?

At Shafer, we understand how important it is that we provide as many means of communication as possible.

To accomplish this, the following list comprises the different ways that you, as a parent, can be assured of being aware of the day- to-day schedule of events here at Shafer:

  • Each Thursday, you will receive a phone message in the weekly Call Out  letting you know of upcoming events for the following week.

  • Take home folders with expectation cards go home daily, and on Wednesday, an extra silver folder goes home with important information.

  • An “eblast” or email message is sent home weekly which also alerts you of upcoming events or items of interest.

  • Homeroom teachers will also send emails about important school news.

  • On our campus website, each grade level team will have a team page to notify you of curriculum that will be studied, upcoming tests, classroom schedules, and grade-level-specific announcements.  Click the "Campus" tab above, choose "Directory" from the menu, and then click on your teacher's name to get to the team website.

  • The campus website itself is your first stop for important announcements, campus news, & upcoming events. There is a campus calendar on our webpage as well which lists all events that take place throughout the month.

  • If you are a member of the PTA, you will also receive emails letting you know of upcoming events in the school as well as events sponsored by the PTA.

  •  Our marquee not only displays birthdays of students, but it also lists important school events.
