Welcome to the Guidance and Counseling Department at Franz Elementary!

The Counseling Program at Franz Elementary offers support for students, parents and guardians through the following:

Individual Counseling for Students

Designed to help students resolve and cope constructively with problems while at school.

Topics Include:

  • Making friends
  • Death of pet or someone close
  • Divorce/Separation
  • Any other difficulties that affect learning at school

Group Counseling for Students

Focus of the group is to provide students with the opportunity to learn skills for being successful in school.

Skills Developed Include:

  • How to follow group rules
  • To play well with others
  • Listen well to the teacher
  • Adjust to being in school

Classroom Guidance Lessons

Classroom lessons conducted by the counselor, which focus on character education.  These lessons can reinforce the trait from Core Essentials or address a specific issue in the classroom.
