AP Courses and Registration for Testing

Students enrolled in an AP course must create one College Board student account.  The student account will provide students with access to all College Board programs: SAT, AP, PSAT/NMSQT and test results for these assessments. Students must have a College Board account to "join" your AP class section, participate in AP assignments from your teacher, and register for AP exams.

AP Testing registration will begin on September 28, 2020 at 7:00 AM and ends on October 25, 2020 at 11:59 PM (Eastern time).  Students who are enrolled in an AP class during the fall semester MUST register to take AP exams by the deadline on October 25th.  This includes Miller and KVS students as well as summer KVS students.

Cost for exams:

$99 per AP Exam.  $149 for the AP Seminar Exam.  This year, you may make partial payments of $40 per exam plus a convenience fee per exam charged by Total Registration.  The first payment is due by October 25, 2020.  Final payments must be made by February 14, 2021.

Students on the current Free/Reduced lunch list may apply for fee waivers during the exam registration process to reduce the cost of their exams.  His/her registration will be put on hold in Total Registration until their request for a fee waiver is verified.  The fee will be $33 per exam for Free/Reduced lunch registration.  Students in special economic circumstances (Free and Reduced Lunch) MUST identify that need during the registration window. All requests for fee waivers must be made during the registration period for the exams to ensure proper arrangements are made for the student.

Looking up STAAR EOC Scores

All scores for past tests may be accessed in the Texas Assessment Data Portal. This will be the only way to access your child's scores for STAAR. Please attached directions for accessing scores through the Texas Assessment Data Portal.

TELPAS and ALT 2 scores may be accessed using the Assessment Portal above as well.

For students who are eligible to test but have not yet achieved "Approaches Grade Level," "Meets Grade Level," or "Masters Grade Level" on English I, English II, Algebra, Biology or US History STAAR EOC will be automatically enrolled in December testing. (Note: A student is considered "eligible to test" if they have taken an assessment and not yet passed, if they have completed the course and haven't yet tested, were absent for testing during the school year, or went home ill during testing and were unable to complete the test.)

**For Spring/Summer 2020 only: If the student passed the EOC course, then they are waived from taking the corresponding STAAR test.  If they failed the course, then they will be required to take the STAAR test in December.

Retester notices will be sent through your student's second period class in late November.
