Need Volunteer Hours? The KISD Folk Life Festival Needs You!
Students, you can get hours NOW preparing fabric for rag dolls, making doll
heads, wiring sticks together and ball yarn while watching your favorite show
or game! You can also work the Folk Life Festival on April 7 from
7:30am-5:30pm. You will be helping visitors make rag dolls, corn husk dolls,
calligraphy writing, demonstrating a cheese making station or helping with the
animals, just to name a few stations. If you want to help, please contact Sandy

Junior GT students or juniors with a 3.8+ GPA:
PACE class is an elective course at Miller Career & Technology Center that
carries a 5.0 GPA weight and is limited to GT students or students with a 3.8+
GPA. If you are a parent of a junior who meets the requirement, please consider
this unique internship opportunity for his/her senior year through the PACE

for detailed information. Students have a rare opportunity through PACE
to intern in any field they want, to gain valuable experience and industry
knowledge, and to learn what it means to be a professional.
The Cougar Den (school store) is now open during all lunches and after school. You can stop by the Cougar Den to grab a snack, buy spirit wear or get whatever school supplies, envelopes or stamps you need.
Student parking CHANGES
All parking will be reserved spaces for the 2017-2018 school year. Each
reserved space is $75. Only seniors may personalize their space.
Sophomores will not be allowed to purchase a reserved space
until the second 6 weeks of school; and then ONLY IF there are any reserved
spaces available. A reserved parking space must be
purchased at least a day before a student is allowed to park on campus.
Failure to follow parking guidelines will result in a boot fee and/or loss of

Need to use a computer before school?
There is a computer lab open from 6:40am-7:20am for student use EVERY DAY. Printing (B&W only) is available for 10¢ per page. LAB 1613 (main campus).
