Attendance Boundary Modifications Approved for New Junior HighAttendance Boundary Modifications Approved for New Junior High2018-12-18T22:03:52Z<div class="ExternalClass32927EB2AC0A40DF83B3134D3EE53714"><p>​<span style="text-align:justify;">With the construction of Junior High #16 set to be completed just in time for the 2019-20 school year, Board of Trustee members considered and discussed attendance boundary modification (ABM) options which would address the fast growth taking place in the southwest quadrant of Katy ISD.</span><span style="text-align:justify;">  </span><span style="text-align:justify;">During the December Regular Board meeting, Trustees approved Option #1 which can be viewed on the </span><a href="/abm/Pages/ABM-2019-2020-JH16.aspx" style="text-align:justify;">Attendance Boundary Modification website</a><span style="text-align:justify;">.</span></p><p>"Thanks to the voter approved November 2017 Bond, Junior High #16 will open in August of 2019." said Chief Operations Officer Lee Crews.  "Junior High #16 will open near capacity enrollment and provide population relief to Tays, WoodCreek and Seven Lakes junior high schools," added Crews.  </p><p>After careful consideration, Option #1 was determined to be the best long-term solution for balancing Junior High enrollment in the southwest quadrant of Katy ISD. <br></p><p><img src="/PublishingImages/Lists/latestnews/AllItems/121818_ABM%20Opt1%20for%20JH%2016.pptx.jpg" alt="121818_ABM Opt1 for JH 16.pptx.jpg" style="margin:5px;width:434px;" /><br></p><p><br></p></div>
Katy ISD Names Lone Finalist for Superintendent of SchoolsKaty ISD Names Lone Finalist for Superintendent of Schools2018-12-18T14:20:10Z<div class="ExternalClassCDC53C9C9AFE4776BCE5E5A2D479052C"><p>At this evening's Katy ISD Board meeting, Trustees voted 4-3 to name Acting Superintendent, Ken Gregorski, as the lone finalist for the position of superintendent of schools. <br></p><p style="text-align:justify;">Gregorski is a seasoned professional with 26 years of experience in public education. Having served as a teacher, associate principal, principal, assistant superintendent, and deputy superintendent in school districts of different sizes and varying needs, he has demonstrated the ability to lead with determination, vision and a deep understanding of a community's priorities. He is also the father of two secondary students currently enrolled in Katy ISD schools. </p><p style="text-align:justify;">Over the past two years as deputy superintendent, Gregorski played an integral role in laying the groundwork for student learning in Katy ISD through his supervision of the School Leadership and Support Department, Human Resources and the Athletics Department. As superintendent of schools, it is expected that Gregorski will maintain Katy ISD's educational excellence and sustain its continuity of leadership while also helping the District reach the goals of its five-year strategic plan.<br></p><p>Per Texas code Sec. 552.126, a state mandated 21-day waiting period will follow before Gregorski will officially assume the superintendent role.<br></p><p><br></p><p style="text-align:center;"><img src="/PublishingImages/Lists/latestnews/AllItems/Kenneth%20Gregorski%20headshot.jpg" alt="Kenneth Gregorski headshot.jpg" style="margin:5px;width:356px;" /><br></p></div>
