Character Strong Program at BDJH

Every week your student is participating in a Character Strong lesson or dare through their advisory classroom.  The Character Strong curricula focuses on character development in order to help students cultivate social-emotional skills, their emotional intelligence, and help them develop a stronger identity and purpose in school and in the world.  When students learn the value of kindness, service, and empathy, they don't just walk out of school being competent at math and science - they walk away being capable, compassionate people.

Legacy Parent Academy

The Katy ISD Legacy Parent Academy is a series of informational sessions specifically designed to assist parents by providing valuable information that relates to topics that go beyond the academic experience.  The goal of the Katy ISD Legacy Parent Academy is to equip parents with strategies and techniques to support their students.  Five of the academy sessions focus on social-emotional learning topics and six focus on academic topics.  The Legacy Parent Academy webpage, which includes session descriptions and a link to register for each session is accessible at:

Love and Logic Parenting Classes

Classes are being offered at multiple campuses during the 2018-2019 school year.  This parenting training program holds a 30 year track record of success and is designed to help parents raise respectful and responsible kids, teach responsibility without losing their love, set limits, avoid power struggles, guide kids to solve their own problems, and teach kids to complete chores.   All parents in the district are invited to attend.  You can access all  registration information at:

New Student Registration FYI

The registration process can take time. Please plan at least 2 hours to complete registration on a school day, and on a non-school day it can take even longer because of the volumes of people trying to register. You will meet with our Registrar, School Nurse, and Counselor(s) when you come to register. On a school day, it is best if you come after 8:00AM to avoid the early morning rush of current students in our offices. We also recommend that you come before 1:00PM since our Registrar and Nurse's Offices close at 3:10PM. Thank you and we look forward to meeting you!
