Project Scope Narrative 2012 - 2013
Construction is nearly ready to commence in a multi-phased manner related to the comprehensive renovation of older areas of the school. This work is scheduled to be substantially complete by the fall of 2013. Physical plant components (i.e. mechanical, electrical, plumbing) will be upgraded which include associated replacement of ceilings, floors, paint finishes, etc.
Specific significant improvements to program areas such as Science, Fine Arts, Career & Technology, and Physical Education will be undertaken as part of this major renovation project. Support areas within the school such as the main administrative area, clinic, cafeteria, and LGI will be improved. When completed the overall physical environment, efficiency, and security will be greatly improved.
A more detail listing of work to be completed follows:
- Replace all galvanized domestic piping, and plumbing equipment and fixtures
- Replace electrical switchgear and equipment, and update and expand the electrical system
- Replace the 56 original air handler units and associated ductwork (new system VAV)
- Replace and update building HVAC controls with digital control
- Replace/ upgrade building lighting (T5 standard)
- Replace exterior doors (repair/replace frames as needed)
- Replace natatorium equipment, and add air conditioning
- PE and Athletic locker replacement and restroom renovation
- T5 lighting in Gyms, refinish walls, and replace wood floor in Gym 1
- Reconfigured main administrative and clinic space with front entry renovation to improve security, increase efficiency, and provide adequate facilities; and replace front driveway and parking spaces
- Increased the size and number of Science Lab/classrooms and amount of prep room support space
- Classroom addition to retain building capacity due to science lab size increase
- Convert Mini-Auditorium to Large Group Instruction (LGI)
- Create a 4th Art classroom, Horticulture classroom, additional book storage, and enlarge Ag shop
- Relocate percussion practice room and create down stair office in band area
- Reconfigure main athletic training room to better serve male/female students, relocated secondary weight room, created wrestling mat room, and reconfigure locker rooms into designated athletic spaces.
- Replace stadium seating with new 1200 seat aluminum bleachers on west sideline and
refurbish concession/restroom building
