Where can I locate my LUZ?
You can determine your Land Use Zone by visiting the Katy ISD Map Viewer.   The Viewer shows current  (2019-20) Land Use Zones (LUZ) .  This Map Viewer will be updated with the 2020-21 Land Use Zones in November 2019.

Where can I locate my child’s 2020-2021 school year zoned campus?
You can determine your child’s next school year zoned campus by  Katy ISD School Assignment by Residential Address (SARA) Web application  beginning at 9:00 a.m. on November 1, 2019.

Student Transfer Information to Remain at Katy High School

Will my child who is currently enrolled at Katy High School and rezoned to Taylor, Cinco Ranch or Tompkins high schools be allowed to continue enrollment at Katy High School through graduation?
Yes. All students currently enrolled at Katy High School prior to the approved ABM on Monday, October 28, 2019 will qualify for a transfer to remain at Katy High School through graduation.  A transfer application must be submitted between Friday, November 1, 2019 and 11:59 p.m. on Monday, January 13, 2020, as well as renewed annually.   

Will siblings of currently enrolled Katy High School Students be allowed to attend Katy High School through graduation? 
Yes.  Siblings of currently enrolled Katy High School students who request a transfer to attend Katy High School through graduation may be considered for a sibling transfer to remain at Katy High School through graduation.  Transfer application must be submitted between Friday, November 1, 2019 and 11:59 p.m. on Monday, January 13, 2020, as well as renewed annually.   

When will the Student Transfer Application link to remain at Katy High School be available?
The Student Transfer Application link will be available beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, November 1, 2019 and will close at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, January 13, 2020.  

Where is the Student Transfer Application located?
The Student Transfer Application link is located on the Katy ISD website homepage, under the “Parents” navigation. From the “Parents” dropdown menu, select “Student Transfers.”  The Student Transfer Application link is on the right hand side of the Student Transfers web page. The following link may also be used to access the form: 2020-2021 Application for transfers due to Jordan HS ABM. This application form opens on November 1, 2019 at 9:00 a.m.

How and when will I know if my student’s transfer request is approved?
An administrative decision is typically made within 10 days of submission. Notification will be sent to the email address provided on the application.  Please set your email filters to accept emails from CampusAdminSupport@katyisd.org.

How long will an approved transfer remain in effect?
Transfer approvals are per school year. Renewal applications must be submitted annually. Transfers can be revoked at any time for attendance and/or discipline issues.

Transportation ABM Information

Will transportation be provided to Taylor High School for LUZ 43 (West Memorial/Governor’s Place), previously zoned to Katy High School?
Yes.  Transportation will be provided to Taylor High school for LUZ 43.

Will transportation be provided to Cinco Ranch High School for the following LUZ’s (previously zoned to Katy High School): LUZ 55 (Heritage Square/Cascade Ridge); LUZ 56A (Cimarron); LUZ 56B (Silverstone/Creekstone)?
Yes.  Transportation will be provided to Cinco Ranch High School for LUZ 55 (Heritage Square/Cascade Ridge); LUZ 56A (Cimarron); and LUZ 56B (Silverstone/Creekstone).

Will transportation be provided to Tompkins High School for the following (previously zoned to Katy High School): LUZ 52E (Avalon at Spring Green); LUZ 52F (Katy Reserve portion ONLY); LUZ 52G (Katy Reserve); LUZ 52H (Avalon at Spring Green); LUZ 54B; LUZ 60A (Mills Pointe/Pin Oak Enclave); and LUZ 60C?
Yes.  Transportation will be provided to Tompkins High School for LUZ 52E (Avalon at Spring Green); LUZ 52F (Katy Reserve portion ONLY); LUZ 52G (Katy Reserve); LUZ 52H (Avalon at Spring Green); LUZ 54B; LUZ 60A (Mills Pointe/Pin Oak Enclave); and LUZ 60C.

Will transportation be provided to students who are rezoned from Katy High School to Cinco Ranch, Taylor or Tompkins high schools and approved for a transfer to remain at Katy High School through graduation?
No. Transportation WILL NOT be provided.

Athletics ABM Information

Will my Katy High School student who has been rezoned to a new high school, but elects to request a transfer to remain at KHS through graduation, need to submit any UIL-related eligibility forms to participate on a varsity athletic team?
No.  Students previously enrolled at Katy High School and on an approved transfer to remain at Katy High School through graduation do not need to submit any UIL-related eligibility forms.  

Will my Katy High School student who has been rezoned to another high school, AND elects to attend the campus in which he/she has been rezoned to, be eligible for varsity athletic participation?
Yes.  Students who are enrolled and attend their zoned campus per the approved Attendance Boundary Modification (ABM) are eligible for varsity participation at their rezoned high school.

If my student elects to remain on a transfer at Katy High School, but then later decides to attend the campus in their attendance zone, could this impact varsity eligibility?  
This may not be an issue in terms of varsity eligibility.  However parents of students electing to remain at Katy High School on a transfer and then deciding later to revoke the transfer and enroll at the school in their attendance zone are encouraged to contact Assistant Athletic Director, Pat Dowling.

Fine Arts ABM Information

Will my Katy High School enrolled child rezoned to a new high school and elects to request a transfer to remain at Katy High School through graduation be able to try-out for cheerleading or dance team?
Yes.  Currently enrolled Katy High School students may apply for a transfer beginning on Friday, November 1, 2019 through Monday, January 13, 2020.  Upon approval of the transfer request, parents and students may contact the Katy High School Cheer & Dance Director for additional information.

Yes.  Students currently enrolled at Katy High School and rezoned to Taylor, Cinco Ranch or Tompkins High School may attend their rezoned high school parent meeting*, clinic and try-out.

*All rezoned dance students should contact the dance team director to schedule a parent/student meeting prior to the listed clinic dates.
