Work Orders
Requests for repair work are sent by each of our 71 schools and facilities through a web based maintenance management program (School Dude), to the Maintenance & Operations Department. On a daily basis, each of twelve maintenance Supervisors approves and prioritizes work to be done by trade specialty in their schools. Each school/facility has a work order clerk that inputs all requests and who can track the progress of any work order at any time. Once complete, all time and materials used for each work order are entered into the system and can be tracked by facility. Work orders include a wide variety of crafts and tasks, including electrical, plumbing, grounds, athletic fields, landscaping, equipment repair, painting, locks, roofing, heating & air conditioning, IAQ, pest control, minor construction, signage, and safety issues. Preventive Maintenance work orders are also entered into the system and are automatically generated on a timely basis in order to maintain equipment and prevent breakdowns, saving the district money. The various types of equipment that are included in preventive maintenance work orders are: roofs, kitchen equipment, scoreboards, water pumps, chillers, generators, fire systems and extinguishers, air dryers, cooling towers, hvac filters, and boilers. The Maintenance department completed 30,467 work orders in the last twelve months.
Building Modifications
Prior to modifying or making a purchase that modifies the make-up of a school that in any way affects the building envelope, environment, or grounds, a “building mod” must be submitted. It must first be approved and signed by the school’s Principal then forwarded to the M&O department. Shortly after receiving it, the M&O department will inspect the site that will be affected and review all plans and purchase information. The goal is to determine that the purchase and/or modification will not adversely affect the safety, security, environmental integrity or aesthetics of the facility.
The Building Modification Form is initiated by the campus principal. Please call Maintenance Department at 281-396-2501 for any questions.
